A strong bond that grows over time: the doll is replaced by a doll with the features of an adult woman who becomes a role model.

The doll can then become for the adult, for men and women, an object upon which to lavish their love, with which to compensate for their shortcomings... Or, paradoxically, to return to childhood, just as they have become adults.
