Cowboy Grass EDP 50 ml

This is the fragrance that introduced us to you in 2008. A bizarre combination once made with a handmade tincture of herbs, citrus peels, and flowers. As I learned the art of perfumery, I experimented with many of the oldest methods; this helped me understand the aromatic relationships between plants themselves. There's no better way to learn a technique than to simply start practicing it: this is the approach behind Cowboy Grass. Despite its uniqueness, it became an instant hit.

 

Cowboy Grass is a play on contrasts. The freshness of bergamot with the dustiness of thyme. The medicinal notes of clary sage and basil against the softness of rose essence. And finally, the dry, woody crackle of vetiver against the warm amber of benzoin.

 

I remember during my first cross-country tour with a band back in college, a plant kept ending up all over the front of our van. It was flying everywhere that year. Only later did I discover it was clary sage. I was shocked to see the real tumbleweeds, the Rocky Mountains, the deserts.

 

Cowboy Grass is dirty and leathery. Not the warm, aristocratic leather of living room sofas, but rather that of saddles worn and worn by years of use by horsemen who crossed the West. Perhaps there's even a hint of the ashy, oily smell of an old Colt .45 holstered. This could be the smell of Mick Jagger belting out the chorus of "Torn & Frayed" (part of the Stones' epic Exile on Main Street, a masterpiece of American musical language).

 

Top notes: rosewood, wild thyme, bergamot

Heart notes: desert sage, basil, rose essence

Base notes: vetiver, grass, ambergris
