Fiery Fig 24.05 50 ml

The dirt road is bumpy.

Our truck lumbers through acres of farmland, kicking up dust at every turn. I stick my hand out the window and feel the dry heat of the summer sun.

When we finally pull into a farmhouse driveway, the sweet scent of figs hits me.

The cedar table is decorated with large, glossy, leathery fig leaves, ranging from light to dark green. I stuff my mouth with sticky figs until I can't eat any more.

In the distance, I hear laughter and the faint strains of music.

The driver takes my hand and leads me through the house and out the back door.

We begin to race at full speed through the hills of fig trees. Against the backdrop of the fiery sunset, we reach a large group of people. They are all wearing elaborate dresses and suits, their faces painted emerald and burgundy. They're sipping milk cocktails, paying no attention to the splashes as they twirl, stomp, and sing to the music.

An old man, with a plain face, sits on a stage. I watch his weathered but strong hands masterfully strumming the guitar strings.

The crowd moves and dances to the rhythm of perfectly choreographed flamenco music. Even though it's the first time I've heard this song, I know it and know the steps by heart. The driver spins me around until the colors of the crowd swirl endlessly.

No matter how much we dance, the music continues.
