Isola was conceived, created and arranged, listening in each of these phases to the albums of Franco Battiato and Kikagaku Moyo.

In Isola there are psychedelic places and scents, sublime atmospheres, that only the heat can give, the heat of the wind, the light scent of citrus fruits, yuzu lemonades, day and night, on the horizon. In the same year I returned after a long time to Sicily and Japan, it was the summer of '23. Lemonades at the old port, children running in the sunny streets of the casbah, the warm wind on the beaches, a sip of bitter every evening, dear friends from distant worlds. I wandered through the streets of light of Mazara del Vallo, my hometown, I watched the sun hit my body, my joy rediscovering childhood. It was all there, my land, my love, my friends, my most intimate bonds.

 

Isola is a state of mind of the human being, it is perceiving that water exists all around, and that the pure element keeps us isolated, but protects us. It was the same summer, I walked the Japanese streets, taking refuge in the shadows of quiet gardens, I listened to the time, I looked at the hot August sun. In Isola I told my love for life, the contrast and the union of two different cultures. Isola is a citrus perfume, which tells in the notes of Lemon and Yuzu two important places in my life, in my memory.

 

Isola is a sparkling perfume, like a can of Yuzu drunk in the summer in the streets of Osaka. Isola is like a fresh lemonade drunk in the Sicilian summer heat, looking at the sea on the horizon, full of lights and reflections, our happy gaze, bathed in the sun and the salty water of the sea. Isola is my turn towards the light. Fresh notes and absence of darkness, this is the great olfactory revolution of Meo in this perfume, the great challenge.
