In the year 1540, a sculptor, Giovanni Antonio Matinati, was transporting one of his works, a wooden crucifix, toward the heart of Sicily. As night fell, he found shelter on Mount Etna in a village along his route, Randazzo. After the night passed, the day promised well, and the sculptor decided to set out toward his destination. As he was about to set out, a severe storm arose out of nowhere, so the artist was forced to abandon his journey. Mysteriously, the same event repeated itself for three consecutive days. The inhabitants of Randazzo interpreted this as a divine sign and decided to purchase the crucifix to enshrine it in a church, where it remains to this day. Although the crucifix was crafted following exacting anatomical studies (a stripped-down side, a relaxed abdomen, and a suffering face), it is said to bring great comfort to those who venerate it. The scent is inspired by wood, the material used for the sculpture, and rain, the subject of the legend.

This atmospheric phenomenon, in many cultures and religions, is a symbol of purification, renewal, and fertility. When raindrops touch the earth, they bring with them the promise of new life, nourishing the fields and filling the rivers. This natural event can be interpreted as a sign that, after life's storms, there is always hope for a new beginning. Furthermore, rain connects heaven and earth, just as perfume, floating in the air, connects earth and sky. Both are instruments of communication between the human and the divine. The perfume opens with notes of moist earth, illuminated by the citrus touch of bergamot and grapefruit. The moist notes continue with a green, aromatic, and dry accord of galbanum and celery seeds. In the heart, a bouquet of white flowers symbolizes the beauty and grace of a landscape at the end of the rain. The base, giving the composition its character, rests its structure on a solid woody base of sandalwood and amyris, reinforced by a touch of cedar and softened by lactic notes. Musk and vanilla notes smooth out the harshness of the woods.
